Sex Counseling services offered in Hayden, ID

Sex Counseling provided by Paige Williams, PTA, Sex Counselor

What it is:

Counselors assist the client to realistically resolve concerns through the introduction of problem-solving techniques of communication as well as providing accurate information and relevant suggestions of specific exercises and techniques in sexual expression. Sexuality counseling is generally short term and client centered, focusing on the immediate concern or problem. (AASECT, 2024)

I am a sex counselor and have specialized training to assess and create an intervention plan for helping patients manage and overcome a variety of concerns in the pelvic health and sexuality space.

Common concerns that are appropriate for this treatment include:

Pain with sex, difficulty or inability to orgasm, hypersensitivity, erectile changes, sexuality as it is impacted by physical changes from pelvic function and chronic illness, sexual changes with aging, and wanting to improve intimacy and connection with partner(s).

How it works at Inland Pelvic Health

My sex counseling work is performed under my Physical Therapist Assistant license, and I work under the supervision of a licensed DPT. This is billed as Physical Therapy because sexual function is a physical experience that involves the pelvis.

I write very minimal information in your healthcare note because I have a strong respect for your privacy, but the things that are written in your chart do get shared in accordance with HIPAA policy, and will be seen by your DPT, insurance payers, and other involved parties as needed. You can always request that specific information be noted in your chart, or be kept from your chart, and I will try to accommodate, but this is not always possible.

I am always happy to have your partner(s) be involved in the work that we are doing. Sometimes this is very helpful in getting a global picture of how the relationship(s) interact, and how your needs can be supported.
